Benoît is in debt and has to ask his rich parents for help again. His plan to get money is to make them believe he is marrying his model girlfriend, Emily. It’s just… Read all. I had the chance to see this movie at an advance screening and I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it because it was truly mediocre. Starting with the worst part: the script is completely empty and the humor is just stupid, there is no trace of reason. Vulgarity is everywhere, which wouldn’t be a problem if there was at least some subtlety, but no, it’s just vulgarity for the sake of vulgarity, probably for a certain type of audience. In short: there’s not much to say about this French comedy. Of course Michèle Laroque and Gérard Darmon are experienced actors who have nothing to prove anymore, but what did they do in this disaster? The pleasant surprise, however, is the male lead actor, who I didn’t know before, but he gives a solid performance and adds a little value to the film. Another thing I enjoyed was the opening scenes with the kidnappers, which were well done, but unfortunately the rest of the film didn’t follow through.
