The script introduces interesting characters – even if the secondary characters are purely cosmetic – and they are enhanced by the wonderful performances of Brody and Pearce

The problem here is that the writers have chosen to add unexplored subplots that prevent the film from reaching its proper conclusion, thus leaving a bitter feeling of incompleteness and preventing this monumental project from achieving what it was intended to.
